"At a recent plant medicine retreat I attended, I met a fascinating guy named Steve. he is a student of the Modern Mystery School, which instills spiritual wisdom through the study of ancient alchemical arts. Dusk was setting in, and we were all sitting around the fire when Steve shared an incredibly profound ancient Cherokee proverb with everyone. It went as follows:
"When you were born you cried,
and the world rejoiced.
Live your life so that when you die,
the world cries and you rejoice."
We all repeated it a few times together, and I felt my emotions changing with every word we chanted. I suddenly understood that while the deaths of others around me brought feelings of grief and sadness, the inevitability of my own death need not stir the same feelings within me. A weight seemed to be lifted off of my shoulders. I felt a certain sense of calm unlike any I had ever known. Poetry, like this ancient song, can transport the listener to realms of understanding far beyond that of everyday consciousness. Many days, weeks, and months later I am still floored by the sagacious sentiment these words illustrate.

My first service done by him was a Crystal Reading. I had a 20 minute demo session with Steve during a critical time in my life. Within the 20 minutes (which felt like hours of my life), I felt like my body was sent to a different world. I was floating among the clouds. I felt right at home, and very light as if I was high enough in the sky where my problems couldn't reach or they had dissolved. Steve & I met during a work-trade opportunity at the Lost River Hostel where he was the manager. I went there to fill my cup with some self-care and I came out a different person. My soul was awakened, and I give this newfound awareness to Steve!
