What is Shadow Work?

Demons. Shadows. Skeletons in the closet. We all have them. You can't just get rid of them or avoid them, no matter how far you run. When the sun shines even brighter, the shadow is often more apparent. The shadow is usually what holds us back from living life in pure Joy and Bliss.

Everyone has a dark side, even if we don’t admit it. We all have fears, insecurities and regrets. Shadow work helps us confront these demons and deal with them head on. Shadow work can sound scary, and some parts of it are definitely uncomfortable, but this work is absolutely necessary in order to uncover true joy and peace in life.


It’s because we allow our “Shadow Self” to run rampant and uncontrolled that our lives may feel chaotic at times. This chaos can manifest as issues with mental health, diseases, feelings of low self-worth, addiction, lack mindset, and other health issues that affect our overall quality of life.


Our shadow-self often harms our life, in ways that are unknown to us at the time. This typically comes in the form of (but isn't limited to) a habitual reaction to particular places, people or things. Our shadow-self blocks us from acting for our own greatest good and can prevent us from reaching our true potential in life.

We tend to go through our lives attempting to hide our shadow self. After all that IS what society trains us to do, right? If you're here, it's probably fair to say that at some point in your life, you discovered what pain was and started to repress that feeling. Most likely this happened as a child, sometime when you were growing up. Then you began to tell yourself the story that it is NOT okay for anyone to know your struggles/battles, that you have to be “positive” all the time and that any negative emotions you feel are not “right." That makes two of us.

In hindsight, those internal battles are what help us further our lives and our vision of success. The truth is that we wouldn’t know our greatest success or potential if we didn’t fight our greatest battles.

This means the shadow must be acknowledged, addressed, and overcome. This is the basis of shadow work.

I have developed a toolbox of techniques that help address these behavioral patterns by helping you to get to the root of the "Why?" What caused us to start behaving the way that we do? Where do our "triggers" come from? Let me guide you through this process, as I have done with many others, so that you can start living a more fulfilled life in which YOU call the shots, not your shadow.
